Building on Bond

This is a nice cafe/bar hidden in Boerum Hill. I really enjoyed the openness and the decor of the space. You can tell the owner really appreciates the original features of the building. We sat there with just a cup of coffee for almost an hour before the kitchen opened for lunch. It was worth the wait. My breakfast sandwich was yummy, especially those herb fries.

Yummy East Village

Milkbar by momofuku, my latest surprising discovery of yummy sweets spot in East Village, has milkshake that made my eyes popped out after one sip. Cereal milk with chocolate donuts ice cream? Who would've thought of that? And chocolate chip cookie with cornflake? What a brilliant idea!

Spring is finally here

I've lived at the border of Dumbo and Brooklyn Height for more than 3 years, I still haven't figured out my way around the streets of Dumbo. Each time I walk in the neighborhood, I feel there's something new and unfamiliar. Like I just realized the flea market I wanted to go all winter is actually 10 minutes away from my apartment. And Choice Market is coming to Dumbo! That's another reason I want to live here forever.

Ryan Town at Earnest Sewn USA

About coming back from the amazing London trip, the best thing is that we got invited to attend the opening show of Ryan Town USA at Earnest Sewn by the wonderful Cynthia we met at Rob Ryan store in London. Walking into the show totally brought us back to the store of Ryan Town London. Can't wait to go back to Columbia Road again.

London—Day 4

Last full day in London. We decided to get the shopping done so we could slowly and quietly enjoy the last day.




When we finally found our way to the Rob Ryan store (Ryan Town) on Columbia Rd., we were overwhelmed by the spirit of the neighborhood. The people at the store were so friendly and warm to us, we stayed there for at least an hour. Everything was beautiful in the store, even the shop girl took her time and wrote the receipt with her amazing handwriting.

Columbia Road

Broadway Market—this turned out to be another great surprise to the trip.




I have a habit of taking pictures of mailbox every place I go. It's like getting stamps on passport for me.

The old Spintalfield Market wasn't like what we expected. It's surrounded by high-rise commercial buildings and big-name chain stores. However when we finally found the Sunday Up Market around the corner, we were overjoyed with the food selections and affordable crafts and fashion. That really put a nice ending note to our trip.

London—Day 3

Started the day with the morning ritual to Monmouth Coffee Company. We learned how to order "flat white" and "filter white" after drinking too many cups of coffee there.



Visiting those touristy spots was not so fun for us. After competing with tons of people for the perfect photo spot, we decided to take pictures of people taking pictures.










Really interesting identity system at Southbank Center. It reminded me of the similar approach for Brooklyn Museum.

At Tate Modern, the giant spider rested on the ground floor of the museum. Last time I saw it was at Roppongi Hill Tokyo. It's really interesting to experience it in different cultures.





When I saw the post at My Funny Eye, I knew I had to be there to take that same shot of St. Paul if I ever made the trip to London. This one's for you, Famapa!
